Internet Explorer 6 SP 1 is the next update for the popular browser providing general improvements to the program. The Service Pack includes a well-tested collection of updates that address a variety of customer-reported concerns. It includes all prior patches and updates as well as enhancements to security and reliability. The Upgrade Advisor is a tool that checks your system hardware and software to see if it is ready for the upgrade to Windows XP. If you run Upgrade Advisor while you are connected to the Internet and your system needs updates that are available on the Windows Update Website, Upgrade Advisor will install the updates for you.

For this reason, it's recommend that you run Upgrade Advisor while connected to the Internet. This way, Upgrade Advisor will get the latest data from Microsoft to ensure that you get the most current hardware and software compatibility report for your system.
